About US Lookup

Last updated: January 28, 2026

Our Mission

US Lookup makes public place data easier to understand. We turn raw, hard-to-use datasets into human-readable pages for ZIP codes, counties, metro areas, states, and area codes.

What We Publish

Each place page is organized into a consistent set of sections, such as:

  • Economy: income and affordability indicators
  • Health: selected health outcomes and context
  • Learning: education and school-related context (where available)
  • Connectivity: broadband and related infrastructure context

We also publish versioned snapshot releases so the site can be served quickly and consistently.

How We Build It

We collect, normalize, validate, and visualize public data. Each release is timestamped and includes source/vintage notes so you can see what changed over time.

We also use Vercel Analytics to understand performance and improve the Service. Details are described in our Privacy Policy.

Learn more about our approach on Methodology and see dataset links on Sources.

Data Quality Notes

Some geographies (especially ZIP-level estimates) can have higher margins of error than county or state data. Small differences should be interpreted as directional signals, not precise measurements.

Who We Are

US Lookup is an independent project. If you have product feedback or suggestions, you can reach the founder at john@uslookup.org.
